The Adventure Podcast Episode 87: 100 Countries, 100 Lessons Learned with Jonny Bealby

I’ve been on the road in Portland, Oregon the past few days, so I haven’t had the chance to post my weekly link to The Adventure Podcast. That’s particularly troublesome, since this was one of our best episodes yet. This week, we welcomed writer, singer, entrepreneur, and world traveler Jonny Bealby of Wild Frontiers Travel to the show. Jonny recently visited his 100th country and penned a story called “100 Countries, 100 Lessons Learned” to share some insight from the places that he’s been. In the interview, we talk about that, why he started his own travel company, his career as a rock singer, and so much more.

Before we jump into our chat with Jonny, we first get caught up on the latest adventure news, with updates on Mike Horn and Borge Ousland’s predicament in the Arctic, the announcement of a major winter climbing expedition to Everest, and the story of a team rowing to the South Pole. Later, my co-host Dave Adlard and I share this week’s gear picks, with Dave extolling the virtues of a tiki torch-shaped Bluetooth Speaker, while I review a pair of winter boots from Vasque.
