While we often get the chance to admire a climber’s effort from afar, particularly after he or she has completed a tough route, we don’t always catch a glimpse of the hard work that goes into their training and preparation. In this video, we join Brazilian climber Felipe Camargo as he heads to Europe to attempt one of the toughest routes on the continent. His goal is to become the first South American to complete a climb that is rated 9B (5.15b). For those not familiar with the grading systems, just consider it really, really hard. As you’ll see here, there is a lot that goes into preparing for such a route, and not all of it is getting ready physically.
