Stretching for 165 miles (265 km) around Lake Tahoe, the Tahoe Rim Trail is one of the more iconic backpacking routes in the American west.
Known for its gorgeous scenery and remote—yet accessible—backcountry, it is a popular trail for hikers, trail runners, and backpackers alike. In this short documentary, we join two fastpackers as they set out to complete the entire route in just five days time, covering an impressive 33 miles (53 km) per day.
But since this video was filmed last June, when the snowpack was unusually high, the duo run into some unexpected challenges on their way around the loop. Beautifully shot and impressively edited, this is a great video for those of us who aren’t able to go on a big adventure of our own right now.
