The Adventure Podcast Episode 49: The Best Gear of Outdoor Retailer Snow Show 2019

Yesterday I shared a rundown of some of the best new gear that various websites saw at last week’s Outdoor Retailer convention in Denver. At the time, I also mentioned that the next episode of The Adventure Podcast would also include our picks for the best gear we saw at the show too. That episode is now available, with myself and co-host Dave Adlard revealing our picks for the seven products that impressed us the most. Our award winners include a radical new zipper from Nite Ize that will appear in a line of waterproof travel packs and a personal compass called LynQ that helps people find each other on the trail, at events, or even just wandering around town. Of course, we were also super impressed with North Face’s new Futurelight fabrics, that promise to be a really game changer if they live up to the hype.

As usual, we start the show off with some adventure news, although there weren’t a lot of stories to share this week. We discuss the latest from the Karakoram and Himalaya winter climbing expeditions, as well as the retirement of Lindsey Vonn, and an impressive motorcycle expedition across Siberia in the heart of winter. Because this is already a gear-heavy episode, we skip our normal gear segment however, although we’ll return to our usual format next week.

We are available on Apple Podcasts, Google Play, Sticher, and Spotify. You can also fell free to reach out to us on our Facebook page, Twitter, or email. Enjoy the show and thanks for listening!
