Adventure Photography Tips From Tyler Stableford

Tyler Stableford has been recognized as one of the top adventure photographers around. And in the video below he shares some tips of the trade with those of us who would like to steal his job. The video is a bit of a commercial for Adobe’s Lightroom 3, which is in beta now, and is a popular tool amongst photographers. But from a workflow stand point it is interesting to see how Tyler works, and the video captures him out in the field shooting an ice climber in action too. One of these days I’ll figure out how to shoot photos somewhere remotely as well at Tyler, but for now, I’ll have to settle for picking up tips where I can.

  1. Loved the video ! Definitely would like to "steal his job " :)This video makes you realize that being an adventure photographer is not "point and shoot" , you need knowledge, experience and , actually, to be an adventurer ( did you notice that guy using ascenders ? awesome…)!…and invest a load of money into equipment…

  2. I agree Paul. The video definitely gives you a better appreciation of the work these photographers go through to get the shots they need. It is a very cool video on several levels.

    I still want Tyler's job! 🙂

  3. Wow. This is such an awesome vid! I love it! And I absolute agree with Paul on his point of view. And I think it would be better to shoot photos with passion.

  4. Perfect! The quality of the video is awesome! One of best great adventures in life is applying the knowledge you learned in school. For photographers, travelling or visiting places is one of the best experiences. Such experiences would also be a great way to gain even more knowledge and skills.
