It has been a couple of months since I’ve had something to give away here at the Adventure Blog but we get to break that streak starting today. I have an awesome little Bluetooth speaker from a company called Damson Audio that you simply have to hear to believe. The diminutive device is called the Twist and it uses an innovative approach called “resonance technology” to help create a fuller, richer sound than you would typically expect out of something so small. To use the Twist you simply pair with your smartphone, tablet, mp3 player or computer via Bluetooth and send all of your audio through the speaker, which when set on a solid surface cranks out your tunes, podcasts or other audio with solid base, clear mid-tones and sharp highs.
You can read my full review of the Damson Twist over at Gadling.com but if you want the shortened version, all you have to know that I think the tiny little speaker is truly an impressive piece of technology. I was continually amazed at how much sounds was coming out of a device that weighs just 12 ounces and is a shade under three inches in length. Damson shifts the Twist with a handy carrying pouch for travel as well as a charging cable and an audio in cable for use with devices that don’t support Bluetooth. The built in battery on the Twist is good for about four hours between charges which is mainly due to the small size of the device. Despite its size however, the thing is built like a tank and feels like it can really stand up to the rigors of travel.
So, I have one Damson Twist, in blue, to give away and I will do so next Friday. But between now and then I’ll be accepting entries into a little contest. To enter the drawing for the speaker simply send me an email at: kungfujedi@gmail.com with a subject line of “Twist.” Then, in the body of the message tell me a song or album that you like to listen to that reminds you of the outdoors. For instance, I think the soundtrack to Into The Wild is amazing and it always reminds me of the movie and by extension exploring the outdoors. Telling what music inspires the same feeling in you. Next week I’ll randomly pick one winner and send them the speaker. Simple as that.
Good luck!
