Throughout the Antarctic expedition season that ended a few weeks back, we followed Ben Saunders and Tarka L’Herpiniere as they attempted to follow in the footsteps of legendary explorer Robert Falcon Scott. The aptly named Scott Expedition took them to the South Pole and beyond, covering some 1795 miles (2888 km) in the process.
The video below is a 5+ minute recap of that amazing adventure that pushed Ben and Tarka to their physical and mental limits. In the end, they were able to complete their goals, but not without struggling with poor surface conditions, subzero temperatures and unpredictable weather. Here’s a glimpse of what they endured.
