The Yeti LoadOut GoBox Keeps Your Gear Safe in the Toughest Environments

With each passing year the outdoor industry seems to push the boundaries when it comes to creating new gear. No only do the products we use in our outdoor adventures tend to get lighter, but they often find a way to become more durable too. That said, we also tend to venture into the backcountry with plenty of products that weren’t necessarily designed to exist there. Smartphones, tablets, laptops, drones, cameras, and other fragile –– yet expensive –– items often come along with us on our journeys, often at their own peril. Fortunately, there are some good options on the market for helping to keep those gadgets safe and sound, although until now we didn’t get one that was built by Yeti.

The new Yeti GoBox looks to change all of that. The company that is known for making some of the most durable and rugged coolers on the market, is about to launch a gear box that meets those same over-engineered standards. Described as a “gear fortress,” the GoBox is built to keep your stuff organized, whether that’s in the back of your truck, at the campsite, or in a remote location. It comes with a removable caddy, compartment divider, and Yeti’s Pack Attic deployable pouch, all of which assist in organization and convenience. The pouch itself attaches nicely to the lid of the box, providing a surprisingly useful place to store items that you want to keep close at hand, yet also out of the way at the same time.

As you would expect form any product from Yeti, the GoBox is built to be practically indestructible. It also happens to be waterproof and dust proof as well, which helps to keep the interior –– and its contents –– safe from the elements. Oversized and rugged latches lock the lid securely in place, making it nearly impossible for it to accidentally come open and spill its cargo out on the ground. Of course, the GoBox’s hinges live up to your expectations from Yeti as well, removing any concerns you might have over a part that tends to be weakness on similar cases from the competition.

Versatility is the name of the game when it comes to the GoBox. It is meant to be used in any way that you need it. Whether you’re stacking it up with fishing tackle, hunting gear, or camera equipment, it will handle it all and keep it nicely protected. It also happens to be sized nicely too, measuring 20.58 inches in length, 14.7 inches wide, and 11.19 inches tall. That kind of puts it into a “tweener” space, not too big or too small.

Of course, this being a product from Yeti it also comes with a hefty price tag. The LoadOut GoBox is priced at $249.99, which is higher than most of the competition as well. Yeti is banking on the fact that it has a reputation for creating very durable gear and that its customers are willing to pay a bit more for that extra level of insurance. It is a strategy that has worked well for them in the past, and built a loyal following for sure. This also feels like a natural market for Yeti to get into and I suspect they’ll find a good level of success with this product. So much so that I wouldn’t be shocked to see the GoBox come in multiple sizes down the line.

The new Yeti LoadOut GoBox will be available in three different colors (white, tan, and charcoal) when it goes on sale in May at Yeti.com.
