After an interview-only episode of The Adventure Podcast last week, there was a lot of ground to cover in this week’s show. Our big topics included a deep-dive into Gore-Tex to better help listens understand what each variation of the fabric does, including an explanation of what the “black diamond” hangtags represent vs. the “white diamond” models. We also discuss the continuing controversy that is Colin O’Brady vs. National Geographic, with my co-host Dave Adlard and I sharing our thoughts on the original article that sparked the dust-up, as well as O’Brady’s own 16-page response.
Before diving into those weight topics however, we first discuss the latest adventure news. Those stories include an update from the major winter climbing expeditions, a British couple who intend to row across the Arctic Ocean, and a father-daughter running duo who recently ran seven marathons in seven days on seven different continents. Later, we offer up our weekly Gear Picks, with Dave sharing his thoughts on his latest water bottle from Hydro Flask, while I review the fantastic Houdini Power Air Houdi.
