Video: Saving Endangered Coral Reefs in Colombia

Inspiration comes in many forms. In the case of this video, you’ll get to meet a young woman by the name of Yassandra Barrios. She is an unexpected and unlikely champion of the environment in Colombia. Yassandra grew up on an island off the coast of that country, where she became concerned about the health of the local coral reefs. But seeing very little action taken to protect them, she didn’t just give up and turn away. Instead, she learned to dive, went to university to become a marine biologist, then returned to the island to motivate the local youth and fishermen to support her cause. No small feat to be sure. In this wonderful video, you’ll get to meet Yassandra and learn more about her story. Perhaps it’ll motivate more of us to help protect the planet too.
