Epic Bus Adventure: London To Sydney Overland

I came across this story while browsing Gadling earlier. If you’re into epic travel by land, this may just be the trip for you!

Oz Bus has created a unique travel experience that’s sure to pique the interest of adventure travelers the World over. They have just started an overland bus route that runs from London, England to Sydney, Australia. The 12 week long excursion passes through 20 countries, and over 10,000 miles of road, along the way. The trip begins in either London or Sydney depending on when you want to travel, and passengers will be staying in a combination of tents and hostels while on the trip.

The trip will set you back about $7500, but you’ll be visiting such places as England, France, Germany, the Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Iran, Pakistan, India, Nepal, China, Laos, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, East Timor, and of course Australia. If you want to know what it’s like on the “Oz Bus”, check out the Oz Bus Diaries, a blog being written by someone who just began the trip. As of now, they’re haven’t been any updates since they departed, but hopefully we’ll get something soon.

The bus is said to be able to seat 36 people comfortably. Do you think we could get a group discount if we organized an Adventure Blog outing? πŸ˜‰

  1. According to their departure schedule, their next one leaves on the 23rd of Sept. That’s probably a little too soon. πŸ˜‰

How about we aim for the Feb. or May departure of next year? That gives us time to get everything in order.

  2. I’m sure we can all afford it once we get the big “Adventure Blog Discount”! πŸ˜‰

Oh, and DSD, it would be awesome to be able to hide your stones all along the trail. πŸ™‚

  3. I hope the bus isn’t filled yet! I am writing out my check as we speak (at least I will be out of the country when it bounces)…on a serious note..if we all pitch in our $20, I would be more than happy to make a three county Adventure Drive here in Indiana, I might even throw in one of those $1.99 Tenderloin sandwiches to each and every one of you..

This bus trip sounds cool, but I am not sure if I would want to be stuck on a bus with 38 Americans in Iran right now..just a thought.

Since were all headed that way though, why not drop Alan Arnette off at Everest next year?
