A year ago yesterday we lost one of the greatest mountaineers of all time when Ueli Steck fell to his death while climbing in Nepal. The mountaineering community was stunned by the news, and really hasn’t completely recovered yet. The tribute video below was released by Suunto to commemorate one year since his passing, and for those of us who followed Ueli’s career closely it is hard not to get choked up by the images and messages that it conveys. One year on, the void that was created when he passed has yet to be filled. There may never be a another climber quite like him. We still miss you Ueli.
