This past spring, Cory Richards and Esteban “Topo” Mena attempted a new route up the North Side of Everest. That journey would be a long and difficult one, with a number of significant challenges. Ultimately, we know that they weren’t quite able to achieve their objectives, but that doesn’t mean the journey isn’t one that is worth following. In this video, we join the two climbers as they arrive in Base Camp at long last and begin their acclimatization process. We also get a chance to see how they work together and the friendship they have built as they begin their quest to reach the summit of the tallest mountain on the planet.
