Since this past spring, we’ve been following the attempt by Cory Richards and Esteban “Topo” Mena to open a rare new route on Everest’s North Side. First, we followed the duo’s updates from the mountain as the expedition unfolded and later we’ve been fortunate enough to catch all of the action via a series of videos courtesy of our friends at RoamTV. The last of those videos was released while I was away in Africa, which made it a priority to share upon my return. In the clip, you’ll see Cory and Topo put it all on the line as they launch their summit bid at last. But a narrow weather window and a tough route will make things extremely challenging. Were they able to complete the route? If you followed their progress a few months back, you already know the answer. But if not, you’ll have to watch to find out.
