No doubt many of you will be following Nims Purja’s attempt on Shishapangma in the days ahead. If you’ve been wondering what this mountain is like, this 3D video render of the peak will be of interest. It starts by taking us along the route to Base Camp, before heading up the mountain along the “standard” route to the top, eventually reaching the summit itself.
Created using satellite imagery and topographical models, it provides a sense of what it is like on the mountain. As with all 8000-meter peaks, it won’t be an easy climb, but the clip will show you the path that Nims and his team will likely take to the top.
