Towering 14,493 ft (4417 meters) into the air, Mount Elbert is the tallest 14er in the state of Colorado. Of course, that makes it a popular target for hikers, backpackers, and peak-baggers each year, although it is also quite a mountain biking destination too. As you’ll see in this video, the way up is quite a slog, including a 5000 foot (1524 meter) climb just to get things started. But the descent make all of the hard work worth it, including providing some epic views along the way. This video will give you a sense of what that’s like, even if you can’t ride it yourself.
