La Ruta Mala: Exploring Cuba by bike is one of the most popular ways to see that country. But most riders tend to stick to a few well-worn and popular road routes on their cycling adventure. In this video though,
we set out on a bikepacking excursion across a tough 1400 km (870 mile) backcountry trail that will test the rider’s strength and determination at regular intervals. Those who do embark on the ride will be treated to a Cuban encounter that few visitors ever get the chance to experience, and as you’ll see in the clip, it looks like it’s worth the effort.
